Local Opportunities

Two Local Tours and a voluntourism activity will take place on Wednesday, November 6. Transportation will be provided for each event and buses will leave from the Madison Entrance of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. See below for details.

Brighton Women's Recovery Center
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Maximum: 50 people
Deadline to Register: October 28

This year we will be working at the Brighton Center Women's Recovery Center. The 100-bed facility is located in Boone County and utilizes Recovery Dynamics and is peer driven. The focus is to help women change their behavior, skills, and attitudes related to their addictive lifestyle. Quite often the women in recovery have children they are trying to take care of as they focus on living and building a sober life.

The KTIA team will be working in teams building bikes for the children. Working in teams of 10 and using I-Pads to help us along our journey, we will complete several bikes that will be used as incentives for the women that are further along in their phase of recovery and who have children 7-10 years old.

After the bike project, Team KTIA will also be building hygiene kits for the women in the program. If any attendee would like to bring any of the below items, Brighton House can definitely use them and you will leave behind a big impact including Toiletry items, Journals, Feminine hygiene, Age range: 18-60.

Make plans to come to KTIA early this year and participate in this very worthy and important give back event.
