Awards and Recognitions

Traverse Awards

Each year, KTIA recognizes and honors members for talent, creativity and effectiveness in marketing through the Traverse Awards for Excellence in Kentucky Tourism Marketing. For recipients, the awards represent a way for hard working individuals and teams to receive the recognition they deserve, and for the communities in which recipients are located, to better understand and appreciate the work of the travel and tourism industry and the professionals who comprise it.

Professional Awards

KTIA recognizes those members who go above and beyond in their service, involvement and engagement with the association and Kentucky tourism as a whole. Professional awards rewarded include the Mangeot-Oaken Distinguished Service Award, the Member of the Year and the Emerging Leader of the Year and are presented at the annual Fall Conference.

Economic Engine Award

The “Economic Engine Award” exists to recognize those local counties which have made an extraordinary economic impact on the local economy directly from tourism. Winners are selected based on tourism impact data that meets one of the following criteria: the recipient is either: one of the counties with the largest tourism economic impact; or, one of the top counties in the state that have created tourism jobs as a percentage of all jobs in the county.
