Welcome to KTIA's Super Auction!

Sometimes with longstanding events at the KTIA annual conference, the time comes to say goodbye to an old friend and to welcome a new one.

An old friend that is going away is the Live Auction held during the annual conference Gala Dinner, a decision resulting from many dinner attendees having asked for more conversation time without the interruption of the Live Auction.

And now we welcome the new friend – the KTIA Super Auction – designed to offer multiple opportunities for both donors and bidders, add to the fun of the auction, and, fingers crossed, increase the important revenue the auction generates for KTIA programs and services.

Key Features of the Super Auction

  • A rolling process of new items being added in three phases;
  • Entire auction to be online/mobile for any place, any day, any time bidding;
  • Bidder-friendly Handbid will continue as the auction platform and although the auction will roll out in three phases, bidders will only need to register one time in Handbid;
  • As with the past Silent Auctions all bidding will conclude during the Gala Dinner, Thursday, November 12 at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Super Auction Phases & Timeline

Phase 1

The auction will open with the types of items previously sold during the Live Auction, typically higher value items (approximately $1,000 or more), including travel and event packages and other eye-catching items such as major bourbon collections. The number of these items will be limited. If a donation is not included in the first phase, it will be in the second.

  • Phase 1 Due Date for Donations: Monday, October 12
  • Phase 1 Opens for Bidding: Thursday, October 15

Phase 2

Let your imagination be your guide with these donations. They can include any and all types of items – art, gift baskets, apparel & accessories, event tickets, boat rentals, individual bottles of bourbon and more – you name it and we’ll take it! And here is a very important request: although the next phase of the auction accommodates donations brought to the conference, it is very much preferred that as many items as possible be made available for Phase 2 to avoid the rather hectic staff process of logging them in at the conference.

  • Phase 2 Due Date for Donations: Monday, October 26
  • Phase 2 Opens for Bidding: Thursday, October 29

Phase 3

Try as you might and as we hope you will, if you can’t get your donation in for the second phase, we will accept it at the conference and add it to those already received.

  • Phase 3 Due Date for Donations: Wednesday, November 11
  • Phase 3 opens for Bidding: Thursday, November 12
